FAQ

When and where is the conference?

The conference will take place at the Grand Hyatt in New York from November 24 - 26th, 2019.

What opportunities will be provided at the International Conference?

Under the guidance of our conference theme, “The New Era of Globalization,” the 2019 International Conference will feature:

  • Keynote speakers in fireside chats, panels, and speaker series

  • On-site and off-site executive seminars

  • Peer-to-peer networking

  • Recruiting reception

  • Seed-funding competition

When is the application due?

We have three rounds of applications. The deadlines are below:

  • 1st round: May 31st, 11:59 PM Eastern Time

  • 2nd round: June 30th, 11:59 PM Eastern Time

  • 3rd round: August 15th, 11:59 PM Eastern Time

Will applying early affect my chances of admission to the conference?

All applicants to the International Conference 2019, whether they apply in the first round or the the last two, receive the same comprehensive, holistic review. Those who apply early gain no strategic advantage; the only advantage is one of convenience. If you know that the International Conference is the choice for you, then it may make sense for you to apply early.

If I am waitlisted or rejected in an earlier round of application, can I reapply?

No, you cannot apply more than once to the general application. If you are waitlisted, your application will be re-evaluated within the next round of applications.

What are the requirements to apply?

You must be an undergraduate student, and you must be able to attend all three days of the conference (November 24 - 26th, 2019).

Do I have to pay to attend this conference?

No, this is all-expenses paid. We cover transportation to New York, hotel accommodations in New York, meals, and fun experiences. We do not cover Visa costs. There is a $75 security deposit to secure your spot in the conference.

Is this application rolling?

The application is not rolling for the first round, but it will be rolling for the second and third rounds.

Am I at a disadvantage if I am a domestic student because this is an international conference, or vice versa?

No, we welcome both domestic and international applicants.

Who can apply for the Impact Challenge?

The Challenge is open to social entrepreneurs all over the world, including those accepted to the Conference through our regular application. Teams must be composed of one to five undergraduate students, and there must be an existing project to apply. The top five teams will receive a month of mentorship from top business executives, as well as the chance to compete at the International Conference for $15,000 in seed funding.

Last year's winner was Cloud Agronomics, a start-up dedicated to reducing food waste and improving farm income.
